Nurse Planner
Job Description:
About Applied Learning Group
Applied Learning Group (ALG) is a continuing education provider for healthcare professionals, founded by a team with more than 20 years of experience building online CE platforms used by more than a million users. We are building a modern CE catalog from the ground up - with a rigorous, evidence-based course planning process - and we are looking for an experienced Nurse Planner to lead the educational and regulatory side of that work.
About the Role
As our Nurse Planner, you will be the senior nursing voice in our course development program. You will oversee the planning, development, and review of continuing education activities for nurses; lead our applications for state CE provider approvals; and ensure our processes and documentation meet the standards of state boards and national accreditation bodies. You will work directly with the founding team and have real ownership over how our education program is built.
ALG intends to pursue ANCC accreditation as a Provider of nursing continuing professional development. The Nurse Planner we hire now is the person we would want to step into the Accredited Provider Program Director role when we reach that point, and this position is scoped and credentialed with that path in mind. Timing depends on our accreditation cycle and ANCC's decision.
This is a part-time, fully remote W2 position for Florida residents (approximately 20 hours per week - part-time) with flexible scheduling and the opportunity to grow with the company.
What You Will Do
- Serve as lead Nurse Planner for our nursing CE program: oversee planning, development, and evaluation of CE activities from needs assessment through post-activity evaluation
- Prepare and manage CE provider approval applications with state boards of nursing and state agencies, and serve as our primary point of contact for those bodies
- Recruit, onboard, and coordinate qualified nurse subject-matter-expert authors; manage the author pipeline from topic assignment through content review and signoff
- Review and refine our course planning documentation, planning forms, and contact-hour methodology to ensure alignment with state requirements and ANCC NCPD criteria
- Perform clinical and educational review of course content for accuracy, currency of evidence, and freedom from bias and commercial influence
- Maintain complete, audit-ready activity files and support regulatory reporting requirements
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Current, active, unencumbered RN license (any U.S. state)
- Graduate degree (MSN ideal); either your baccalaureate or graduate degree must be in nursing
- Available approximately 20 hours per week on an ongoing basis
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, small-team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Nurse Planner or Lead/Primary Nurse Planner within an ANCC-accredited or approved provider unit (strongly preferred)
- Experience in nursing professional development, continuing education, or nursing education - for example as an NPD practitioner, CE or education coordinator, clinical educator, or nursing faculty
- Experience developing education with documentation ownership: needs assessments, learning outcomes, evaluation design, and complete records
- Familiarity with ANCC NCPD criteria, or a demonstrated record of quickly mastering regulatory and accreditation frameworks
- Experience preparing CE provider approval applications
- NPD-BC or comparable certification
- Experience recruiting, directing, or reviewing the work of content authors or subject-matter experts
- Experience with online, asynchronous (self-paced) CE course formats and contact-hour determination for written self-study activities
- Experience in a CE company, publisher, or education vendor setting
- New York RN licensure a plus
Benefits
- Work Remotely (from your home or home office)
- $55–$70 per hour, based on experience and credentials
- Training, Software, and Hardware paid as needed to complete and perform job
- Reimbursement for up to $50 mo in broadband internet service
